Sensitive data access via directory path parsing
Published Dec 12, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025
Path traversal in ATS in Apple macOS before 26.1 allows local users to access sensitive user data through a locally executed application. ATS parses directory paths without sufficient path validation, allowing an application-supplied path to reach data outside its intended location. Local application execution and low-privileged access are required, and the published impact is limited to disclosure of sensitive user data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
