CVE-2025-43458Network attack vector

Process crash via unsafe cached-page pruning

Published Nov 4, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

WebKit state-management failure in Safari and affected Apple operating systems before 26.1 allows remote attackers to crash a process. BackForwardCache::prune can iterate m_cachedPageMap while pruning cached pages, leaving a nulled unique_ptr in the map during CachedPage destruction. Processing attacker-controlled web content with user interaction can therefore dereference invalid state and terminate only the affected process.
