Local sandbox escape via incorrect entitlement handling
Published Nov 4, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Improper access control in the Assets component of Apple operating systems allows local users to escape an app sandbox. Apple identifies entitlement handling in Assets as the locus but has not disclosed which entitlement check or operation is incorrect. Exploitation requires a user to run a crafted local app; successful escape removes the app's sandbox boundary and can expose host resources.
