Stored script execution via unencoded category name
Published May 6, 2025 · Updated May 6, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in MRCMS 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to persist script through a crafted category Name. The /admin/category/add.do endpoint stores the Name value without effective filtering, and later page output renders it without HTML entity encoding. Administrative privileges and passive interaction by another user are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in that user's browser context.
