Privilege escalation in Apple macOS before 13.7.7, 14.7.7, or 15.6 allows local users to gain root privileges via a malicious app. Apple identifies the affected locus as Core Services but has not disclosed which permissions operation was incorrect or what the removed code did. Execution of a malicious local app on affected Ventura, Sonoma, or Sequoia systems is required, after which the app obtains root authority.
