Settings bypass via missing consent prompt
Published Jul 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Improper access control in Apple macOS before 13.7.7, 14.7.7, or 15.4 allows attackers to bypass sensitive Shortcuts settings. The Shortcuts component permits a shortcut to cross sensitive app-setting controls without presenting the additional consent prompt required for the action. A shortcut must reach the vulnerable Shortcuts component; Apple has not disclosed which settings or downstream actions become accessible.
