Privilege escalation in CubeWP Framework 1.1.23 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access via the REST API. The user-update path in class-cubewp-rest-api.php passes attacker-selected metadata to update_user_meta() without restricting privilege-bearing fields. A Subscriber-level account is sufficient to overwrite role metadata and take administrative control of the WordPress site.
