CVE-2025-43001

Privilege escalation via signed archive permission override

Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Privilege escalation in SAPCAR 7.22EXT and 7.53 allows local users with high privileges to alter critical files through archive extraction. During extraction, SAPCAR applies archive-controlled permission settings to the current and parent directories without invalidating the signed archive. Exploitation requires high local privileges and user interaction; the resulting permission changes enable further privilege escalation.
