System compromise via cross-system HMAC credential replay
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Missing authentication in SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote attackers to compromise systems by replaying an HMAC credential. The authentication path accepts a credential taken from a system lacking Security Notes 3007182 and 3537476 on a different system instead of rejecting the cross-system replay. Exploitation requires obtaining the credential from an incompletely patched source system; successful replay grants complete control of the target.
