Unauthenticated log deletion via unchecked topicurl actions
Published May 5, 2025 · Updated May 5, 2025
Improper access control in the TOTOLINK A720R 4.1.5cu.374 Log Handler allows remote attackers to delete router logs without authentication. /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi dispatches clearDiagnosisLog, clearSyslog, and clearTracerouteLog topicurl actions without checking authentication. A network-reachable management endpoint is sufficient, and successful requests erase diagnostic, system, or traceroute records rather than exposing data or executing code.
