Account takeover via unrestricted OTP attempts
Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Improper OTP attempt restriction in Meon KYC Solutions 1.1 allows remote attackers to access other users' accounts via brute force. Certain login API endpoints accept repeated incorrect one-time passwords without limiting attempts or enforcing a retry restriction. No authentication or user interaction is required, but repeated guesses must produce a valid OTP before another user's account becomes accessible.
