Authenticated web-content upload via preserved extension
Published May 5, 2025 · Updated May 5, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in newbee-mall 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to write attacker-chosen web content to the upload path. UploadController uses ImageIO to recognize an image but preserves the original filename extension when transferTo stores the file under the served upload directory. An administrator session is required; the demonstrated consequence is stored script content served from /upload, while server-side execution depends on deployment handling.
