Remote code execution via oversized MDELETE command
Published May 3, 2025 · Updated May 6, 2025
Buffer overflow in PCMan FTP Server 2.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute code by sending an oversized MDELETE command. The MDELETE handler accepts 2,003 bytes before attacker-controlled data overwrites the saved instruction pointer and redirects execution to a JMP ESP sequence. The published exploit logs in with anonymous credentials and runs Windows shellcode, so exposure requires a reachable FTP service that permits that login.
