Arbitrary file upload via unvalidated ZIP extraction
Published May 17, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Arbitrary file upload in CSV Mass Importer 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to write files. The cmi_import_upload field accepts a ZIP archive without validating its contents, and the import path can extract an embedded PHP file under wp-content/uploads/cmi-data. Administrator access is required; placement in that web-accessible directory permits command execution with web-server privileges.
