Root access via sudo-permitted network utilities
Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026
Privilege escalation in MBS UBR firmware before 6.0.1.0 allows local users with the UBR service account to gain full system access. The sudoers policy lets that account run tcpdump and ip with elevated privileges, and those binaries permit command execution as root. Access to the low-privileged service account, such as through SSH, is required; successful exploitation gives complete control of the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
