Authenticated code execution via upload path traversal
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Path traversal in METZ CONNECT EWIO2 firmware before 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The PHP upload handler accepts traversal sequences in the target filename, allowing a low-privileged user to create or overwrite Python scripts that the device executes. Low-privileged network access is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled Python code and can compromise device data and operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
