Administrator takeover via malformed user-storage input
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Improper input validation in SAUTER modulo 5 and modulo 6 device webservers allows remote authenticated users to reset administrator access. The webserver user-management path accepts unsupported character sequences into its user store, corrupting the stored account data. Low-privileged access is required; successful corruption deletes every configured user and recreates the default Administrator with its known default password.
