Limited-account password recovery via extractable firmware hashes

Password-hash exposure in Janitza and Weidmüller power-analyzer firmware 3.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to recover limited-access passwords. Published firmware images contain extractable account password hashes, but the vendors have not disclosed the file, hash format, or cryptographic operation that makes them recoverable. No device authentication or user interaction is required because the images can be obtained remotely and the recovered hashes cracked offline; the reported consequence is disclosure of plaintext passwords for limited-access accounts.
