Weak password generation in Phoenix Contact FL SWITCH 2xxx firmware before 3.50 allows remote authenticated users to recover OS passwords. The root and user password-generation routine applies insufficient computational effort, making both passwords brute-forceable. Administrator access to the webUI is required; successful recovery exposes underlying operating-system accounts without reported integrity or availability impact.
