CVE-2025-41688Network attack vector

Authenticated RCE via Lua sandbox escape

Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 31, 2025

Sandbox escape in REX and mbNET router firmware allows remote authenticated users with high privileges to execute arbitrary OS commands. An undocumented interpreter method crosses the implemented Lua sandbox boundary and exposes operating-system command execution; no finer-grained method or function details are public. High-privileged authenticated access to the remotely reachable device is required, after which command execution permits full device compromise.
