CVE-2025-41679Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Conftool service crash via oversized confnet fields

Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Out-of-bounds writes in Conftool on REX 100 and mbNET.mini before 2.3.3 allow remote attackers to crash the network wizard. The confnet binary's serial and command functions mishandle oversized values, writing beyond their intended buffers and terminating the service. No credentials or user interaction are required, but the device serial number is required; the published proof of concept retrieves it over UDP port 25353.
