Unauthenticated takeover via shared JWT signing certificates
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Authentication bypass in WAGO Device Sphere 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to gain full control of the tool and connected devices. Each installation deploys identical certificates for JWT encryption and signing instead of generating unique keys, enabling forged valid tokens. No credentials or user interaction are required; a holder of the shared private key can impersonate users across installations.
