Link following in the arp-preinit script in Phoenix Contact PLCnext firmware before 2025.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to access any file. The script reads, writes, or executes a critical path after a low-privileged user replaces its target with a symbolic link, resolving the operation to an unintended file. Existing low-privileged file access is required; successful exploitation exposes or alters arbitrary device files and can execute their contents.
