CVE-2025-41660Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsigned boot application

Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026

Code execution in affected CODESYS Control V3 runtimes allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary code on the PLC. The CmpApp component lets Service-group users replace the boot application without cryptographic validation when application signing is not enforced. Exploitation requires Service-level file permissions and permits attacker-supplied code to execute when the controller loads the replacement application.
