Unauthenticated code execution via oversized DEBUG command
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 1, 2025
Buffer overflow in PCMan FTP Server 2.0.0 through 2.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute code via an oversized FTP DEBUG command. The referenced exploit logs in anonymously, sends 2,005 bytes to DEBUG, overwrites EIP with a JMP ESP address, and runs a reverse-shell payload. The CNA labels the module the VERBOSE Command Handler, but its referenced artifact demonstrates the flaw in DEBUG handling; anonymous FTP access is sufficient.
