Guest channel metadata disclosure via missing authorization
Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025
Missing authorization in Mattermost 10.5.0 through 10.5.12 and 10.11.0 through 10.11.2 allows remote authenticated users to read channel metadata. The getPublicChannelsByIdsForTeam handler returns requested public-channel objects without checking whether a guest session has PermissionReadChannel for each channel. A guest account and valid team and channel identifiers are required; exposure is limited to active public-channel names and metadata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.11.0 <=10.11.2
