CVE-2025-41250Network attack vector

Email manipulation via SMTP header injection

Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

SMTP header injection in VMware vCenter Server before 7.0 U3w or 8.0 U3g allows remote authenticated users to alter task emails. Broadcom has not disclosed the input field, code locus, or missing neutralization step that permits attacker-controlled data to enter generated SMTP headers. Exploitation requires non-administrative vCenter privileges and permission to create scheduled tasks; the reported consequence is manipulation of resulting notification emails.
