Authenticated command execution via alarm script actions
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated Jun 24, 2025
Command injection in VMware vCenter Server 7.0 and 8.0 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary commands via alarm script actions. The alarm script-action path accepts a command that vCenter Server executes, but Broadcom has not disclosed the affected function or validation failure. Exploitation requires privileges to create or modify alarms and run script actions, and successful commands execute on the vCenter Server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
