Encrypted-traffic compromise via CBC timing leakage
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
CBC timing weakness in Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROS devices allows remote attackers to compromise encrypted communications. The devices negotiate TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256, retaining CBC processing whose measurable timing differences expose protected data. Exploitation requires a high-complexity network timing attack; successful attacks can disclose or alter encrypted traffic without interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
