Account takeover via unauthorized user-record modification
Published Jan 12, 2026 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Authorization bypass in Viafirma Inbox before 4.5.27 allows remote authenticated users to alter user data and impersonate accounts. The user-management interface accepts user references without verifying authorization to list, read, or update the referenced accounts. A low-privileged account can change another user's email address, invoke password recovery, and take over any account, including an administrator account.
