NRF crash via self-registry deletion assertion
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Reachable assertion in Open5GS 2.7.5 and earlier allows remote attackers with NRF connectivity to crash the NRF via an SBI request. A crafted SBI request deletes the NRF's own registry, after which a reachable check aborts the NRF process instead of rejecting the operation. NRF SBI network reachability is required; exploitation interrupts NF registration and discovery until the service restarts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
