Stored script execution via unvalidated report fields
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025
Stored XSS in appRain CMF 4.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via report fields. The /apprain/appreport/manage/ handler stores data[AppReportCode][id] and data[AppReportCode][name] without proper input validation before page generation. An authenticated account is required, and another user must view the stored content; script execution is confined to that viewer's browser context.
