Unauthenticated administrator takeover via unchecked login handler
Published May 7, 2025 · Updated May 7, 2025
Improper authorization in Frontend Dashboard 1.0 through 2.2.6 allows remote attackers to take over an administrator account. The fed_wp_ajax_fed_login_form_post() AJAX handler accepts an unauthenticated password-reset flow without a capability check, allowing supplied account data to replace the administrator's email and password. No account or user interaction is required; successful requests grant administrator privileges and control of the WordPress site.
