Contributor-level content deletion via misconfigured capability check
Published May 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in MultiVendorX 4.2.22 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary WordPress content. The delete_fpm_product AJAX handler applies a misconfigured capability check before deleting the supplied post identifier. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and deletion can remove posts, pages, attachments, or products outside the attacker's authority.
