CVE-2025-40910Network attack vector

Access-control bypass via decimal parsing of octal addresses

Published Jun 27, 2025 · Updated Sep 7, 2026

Improper IP validation in Net::IP::LPM 1.10 allows remote attackers to bypass IP-based access controls with leading-zero CIDRs. Its IPv4 parser accepts zero-prefixed octets as decimal text instead of rejecting them with inet_pton, so trie results can differ from system address resolution. Exploitation requires a consuming application to use attacker-controlled IP or CIDR text in an access-control decision.
