CVE-2025-40818

Private-key disclosure via permissive server file permissions

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Dec 9, 2025

Incorrect file permissions in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before V3.2 SP4 allow local users to read private TLS keys. The server stores its SSL/TLS private keys with permissions that expose them to any account with server access instead of restricting them to the owning service. Low-privileged server access is required; disclosed keys support server impersonation, traffic decryption, or access to services that trust the certificates.
