Channel exposure in Siemens SINEC Traffic Analyzer all versions allows local users to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks. The monitoring interface fails to remain strictly passive and instead permits interaction with monitored PROFINET communications, placing the analyzer on the observed channel. Exploitation requires unauthenticated local access and high complexity; successful interposition exposes, alters, or interrupts monitored communications.
