CVE-2025-40767

Local privilege escalation via weak container isolation

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025

Privilege escalation in Siemens SINEC Traffic Analyzer before 3.0 allows local users to access sensitive host system resources. The application runs Docker containers without adequate security controls to enforce isolation between those containers and the host. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and high-complexity conditions, and successful exploitation grants elevated access to sensitive host resources.
