Superuser code execution via unvalidated library path
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Uncontrolled library search in Siemens Altair Grid Engine before 2026.0.0 allows local users to execute code with superuser privileges. The setuid-root sgepasswd utility accepts a user-controlled library-search environment variable and loads a substitute shared library from the selected path. Exploitation requires a low-privileged local account, control of a searched library location, and execution of the setuid-root utility.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
