Privilege escalation via unvalidated SQL query input
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
SQL injection in Siemens SINEC NMS before 4.0 SP1 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges through getTotalAndFilterCounts. The endpoint passes a user-supplied string into constructed SQL queries without proper validation, permitting malicious data to alter database operations. Low-privileged credentials and network access to the HTTPS application are required, and successful exploitation reaches resources normally denied to that user.
