CVE-2025-40751

Privilege escalation via insufficiently protected Report Client credentials

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Insufficient credential protection in Siemens SIMATIC RTLS Locating Manager before 3.3 allows local users to escalate privileges. The Report Client fails to protect server-authentication credentials against extraction, although Siemens does not disclose the storage location or protection error. An authenticated Manager user with local access can reuse the extracted credentials to obtain the Systemadministrator role.
