Code execution via crafted CFG file parsing
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Siemens Solid Edge SE2025 before V225.0 Update 5 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted CFG file. The CFG parser overflows a stack buffer while reading attacker-controlled file content; Siemens has not identified the affected routine or field. Exploitation requires a local user to open the file, and successful code runs with the privileges of the Solid Edge process.
