Authenticated script execution via reflected search query
Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Cross-site scripting in all versions of Vox Media Chorus CMS allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via a crafted search URL. The /search endpoint reflects the attacker-controlled q parameter into the response without neutralizing it for HTML output. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and a victim to open the malicious URL, enabling script actions in that victim's browser, including session-cookie theft.
