Stack-based buffer overflow in Code Projects Product Management System 1.0 allows local users to crash the application via a product name. The add_item function passes input to gets() without a length bound, allowing data beyond the 40-byte st.productname array to overwrite stack memory. Exploitation requires local access and application credentials; the published proof of concept demonstrates an access-violation crash, not code execution.
