Application crash via unbounded password input
Published Apr 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 29, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Code Projects Simple Movie Ticket Booking System 1.0 allows local users to crash the application. The changeprize function passes its 10-byte pass buffer to scanf with an unbounded %s conversion, so input of at least 10 bytes overwrites adjacent stack memory. Low-privilege local access to the price-change menu is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a crash, while code execution is not demonstrated.
