CVE-2025-40594

Privilege escalation via leaked session privileges

Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Mar 10, 2026

Improper privilege management in Siemens SINAMICS G220, S200, and S210 V6.4 allows local users to escalate privileges. The devices permit a factory reset without the required privilege check and retain prior-session privileges that can be reused to manipulate configuration data. Exploitation requires local access, active user interaction, and specific execution conditions; it can alter configuration and interrupt drive availability.
