dcpd crash via malformed Profinet packet
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens SCALANCE LPE9403 before V4.0 HF0 allows remote attackers to crash dcpd with a crafted Profinet packet. The dcpd process fails to validate incoming Profinet packet data before reading beyond its intended bounds. The attack requires adjacent-network access to the Profinet DCP service and interrupts that process without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
