Path traversal in Siemens SCALANCE LPE9403 before 4.0 HF0 allows local users with administrator rights to restore unintended files. The backup restore function accepts traversal sequences that resolve a selected file outside the designated backup directory instead of enforcing containment. A restored backup replaces configuration files under /etc; the path is restricted to privileged local users, with no reported data disclosure or service interruption.
