CVE-2025-4044

Sensitive data disclosure via writable customization XML

Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

XXE in Lexmark Universal Print Driver before 3.0.6.0 and Printer Software G2 before 2.17.0.0 allows local users to disclose data. A standard user can modify or replace the installation-created XML customization file shared by all system users, and the driver resolves external entities when another user prints. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a subsequent print action, after which sensitive workstation data is sent to an attacker-controlled URL.
