Local service interruption via unvalidated userq arguments
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Improper input validation in Linux kernel 6.16 through 6.17.7 allows local users to interrupt service through malformed AMDGPU userq IOCTLs. The amdgpu_userq_ioctl path accepted unsupported operations, IP types, flags, queue sizes, pointers, and extraneous free-request fields without a front-end validator. Reaching the flaw requires local access to an AMD GPU device with user-mode queues enabled; the published assessment limits the consequence to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
